2011 Business Ethics Awards

HomeBridge Wins the 2011 Better Business Bureau Maritime Business Ethics Award in the category of non-profit!

We are very excited to announce that HomeBridge Youth Society has won the 2011 Better Business Bureau Maritime Business Ethics Award in the category of non-profit. This is the second consecutive year that HomeBridge has been nominated for this honour and both years we were extremely proud to be chosen as one of three finalists in the category.
The Better Business Bureau of the Maritime Provinces presented the 7th Annual Maritime Business Ethics Awards on November 1, 2011. The event is an effort to recognize businesses with high ethical and professional standards and HomeBridge was very proud to be recognized this year alongside of such hardworking and inspiring organizations as Bide Awhile Animal Shelter and the Ecology Action Centre. To acknowledge this honour, the Minister of Community Services shared HomeBridge’s recognition in the House of Assembly as a resolution.
The Better Business Bureau created these awards to acknowledge that some businesses go far beyond the average in maintaining high standards of ethical behaviour. They do what is right and fair, without questions, and without compromise. The Maritime Business Ethics Awards gives public recognition to these businesses in the Maritime Provinces. Awards are given in five categories covering organizations from non-profit to those with over 100 employees.
As an organization that is entrusted with the safety and well-being of young people who have often not had many positive experiences in their lives as well as one that strives to make the greatest impact possible with the contributions of our generous donors, we take public trust very seriously. It is such an honour to be recognized for our work, and we can't think of a greater compliment than to be recognized for our business ethics.
