Hawthorne House is licensed as a six-bed, male residential facility
for youth 14 to 16 years of age.
History
Hawthorne House was the first facility of HomeBridge Youth Society,
formally the Association for the Development of Children’s
Residential Facilities, which opened in Dartmouth in February
1979. It was opened in response to a need from child welfare workers
for an assessment centre for boys and girls, 10 to 16 years old.
Hawthorne House is the only facility owned by HomeBridge Youth
Society.
