Human Resource Associate

THE OPPORTUNITY
HomeBridge Youth Society is a not-for-profit organization that serves vulnerable and resilient youth between the ages of 12-18. HomeBridge is comprised of 6 child and youth caring facilities that can accommodate as many as 40 youth at any given time. There are 140 employees representing a variety of professions, working to support the youth through various programs such as an on-site school, Expressions Program of the Arts, as well as daily program and life skills opportunities.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Human Resource Associate will work closely with the Human Resource Manager to assist and support with a wide variety of tasks and responsibilities within the scope of the role. The incumbent will be able to work independently or in a small group setting. A focus on commitment to ethical behaviour and promoting professional interactions with colleagues, community partners and all stakeholders is essential.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Successfully completed a two-year Business diploma with a concentration in Human Resources or a Bachelor’s degree in Business with a focus in Human Resources. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be acceptable

Minimum 1-year work experience or co-op experience working in a business setting focusing on Human Resource duties

Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is required

Experience working with a Human Resource Information System such as BambooHR or Payworks software

Experience in a Management position is considered an asset

Experience in working in a not-for-profit setting is preferable

WORKING CONDITIONS
The work environment demands strong concentration and the ability to focus as interruptions and competing demands occur frequently. Must be able to work independently or on a team and under stressful conditions. Working environment often requires sensitivity to cultural, societal and philosophical differences. Typical working hours are Monday to Friday 8:30am-4:30pm.
WHAT WE OFFER
HomeBridge is considered a progressive organization and a leader in the Youth Care field. We offer a competitive package of employee benefits including paid time off provisions, medical and dental coverage, life insurance, and a matching RRSP contribution. The salary range is a five-year scale from $43,910 to $50,410. The starting salary will be commensurate with the experience, qualifications, and education of the successful candidate.
HomeBridge Youth Society is a unionized and smoke-free environment. However, this position is a non-unionized management position.
